Grizzly Softball now 8-0 after winning 2 against ASU-Newport
The Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Softball team remains undefeated this season at 8-0 after picking up two wins against Arkansas State University-Newport Saturday, Feb. 24.
In doubleheader action at Newport, the Grizzlies defeated the Aviators 3-1 in the first game and 12-1 in the second.
First game results
Freshman pitcher Jordyn Foley, Ozark, had an outstanding performance from the mound in the first game. She pitched all seven innings, allowing only four hits and one run while striking out 10 batters.
Freshman centerfielder Lexie Gastineau, Ava, led the Grizzlies' offense. She went 1-3 at the plate with a single, two stolen bases and a run scored.
