Grizzly Volleyball team receives USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

The Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Volleyball team has earned the 2019-2020 United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/AVCA) Team Academic Award.

To be eligible for recognition, teams must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale. The Grizzlies compiled a 3.45 GPA this past academic year.

The Grizzlies were one of the 32 two-year college programs recognized.

In all, the USMC/AVCA recognized 1,315 teams at competition levels ranging from high school through NCAA Division I.

The award was initiated during the 1992-93 academic year to honor teams that have matched their dedication to the sport of volleyball with excellence in the classroom.
