Grizzly Basketball team members receive awards at sports banquet

Several members of the 2018-19 Grizzly Basketball team at Missouri State University-West Plains received individual awards at the annual Grizzly Sports Banquet Thursday evening, April 11, at the West Plains Civic Center's Magnolia Room.

Montel Stewart, Palm Bay, Florida, received the Most Inspirational and the team-elected Team Captain awards.

D'Andre Vilmar, Abaco, Bahamas, received the Defensive Player of the Year and the Most Improved Player awards.

Johde Campbell, Leicester, England, received the Team Captain award.

Sardaar Calhoun, Tappahannock, Virginia, received the Team Captain and MVP awards.

Houston Johnson, Springfield, received the Uncommon Award for a determined effort to go above and beyond in all areas of his life.

Eric Lovett, Jonesboro, Georgia, was recognized for his NJCAA third team All-American honor.
